Fortress

We chase what was never ours to take

We hide from the monsters we make.

The walls of the fortress may keep you secure

But the filth of the dungeons will turn the air impure.

The suffocation will sharpen your senses

Moments of life will flash by your eyes,

Without any pretense.

The illusion will be shattered

But it will be too late to have mattered!

Still as a stone, lay bare as a bone

The train of thoughts will exit

With only last thought worth merit -

Was it worth it?
